The Career’s Services offers students a range of opportunities and information. These include:

A Careers Section is published fortnightly in the News and Views to parents with course, scholarships, Open Days and other careers related events.

A well stocked Careers library with a continually changing display of information booklets, handbooks and brochures on noticeboards and special displays in the Seminar Room.

Career Planning

Planning lessons are taught in the Year 7 - 12 Personal Development program providing the general framework of how to research a career, write and prepare a resume and develop a folio.

QTAC (QLD Tertiary Admissions Centre) and interstate tertiary applications are monitored by the Careers Counsellor who assists students with preferences.

The Job Guide published by the Queensland Department of Education and Training is distributed to all Year 10 students.

A comprehensive career planning day is offered to all Year 10 students in the lead up to their choice of an appropriate option and to develop their Senior Education Training Plan.

Work Experience

All students have the opportunity to participate in work experience during school holidays.

Vocational Education and Training

Traineeships , apprenticeships  and a range of Certificate III qualifications can be studied during the Senior Phase of Learning.  These courses contribute to their Queensland Certificate of Education and provide students with a good tertiary education rank allowing access to University and TAFE courses after graduation.  

Career interviews are available to all students and parents are welcomed to come along.
